Dreaming Silences

Soaring Dreams airship over Golden Gate Bridge

Image via Wikipedia

Silences beneath
a mass of swirling gray
ensconcing the biting,
soon numb cerebral
dance- -neurons
bursting in slow motion- –
faded memories
of your warmth
manifest still-shot images
borrowed from the silences
of time apart.  Those almost
images- -almost warmth
to tuck into

Wishing beyond
these cold dreams
flowing sideways
from my lips- -syllables,
broken arrows
caught in my throat- –
I need for needs sake
to know- -to feel,
how to feel in the reeling
without your warmth
in which to awaken- -to
wake the silences without
shattering the silence
I crave- -and crave you
screaming in whispers.

“The eye sees a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination awake.”

Sudden cloud cover
ushers in silence- –
profusely silent
wildlife awaits snow- –
morning coffee warms
mid November’s chill
sleeping- -he breathes slow
timid light breaks- -blue
through a frosted pane
a kaleidoscope
splashes- -fire crackles
gently I kiss him
stirring his senses
silence- -holds me close.

Neither going, nor coming
is ever easy
though used wisely
shining polished stones
of time are useful
when collecting nuggets
for a box of dreams

coins for spending
on empty days
when creativity
loses its flavor

When drifting aimlessly
through long silences
creates nothing- –
a pocket full of days
tossed recklessly
into my box of dreams- –
for making word salad

Pull Me

Cold comes in
riding on darkness,
gliding toward me
– -silent, but for the wind
from the dark wings
– -feathers whistling
beneath the eaves.

Pull me into you.
Hide me in your arms
safe within the blanket
of your love.  Loneliness
– -the shadow of silence
touches my soul
with bony fingers
– -laughs at my tears.
My fears bleed violet.
– -Violent red streaks
the coldness, except
in you.

Pull me
from never-ending
cold- -hold me safe
from shadow’s reach.
Pull me into your love.
Hide me from the silence
– -I am.

Silence screams
in blossoms, trees, buffalo grass
swaying- -dancing
dew drops drip
Earth bound rain
lands it painfully
within this vessel of me.
You challenge it all with a smile.
Billowy puff clouds above
float with noisy laughter
next to you in my heart.
You- –
are tranquillity stroking my hair
– -desperately seeking
anything more tangible
than a silky dream.

Earth’s serenade whispers
through my soul, stirring
the mist and you.
Blades of sunrise
pierce dawn’s graceful veil.
Nature awakens
with wings thrashing- -music,
laughter of life- -free
eager for love like flowers
to be plucked- -love.
I leave you standing
alone inside me- -waiting
in time’s hallow for a tender rebirth.

Love- –
standing alone.
