Dreaming Silences

Soaring Dreams airship over Golden Gate Bridge

Image via Wikipedia

Silences beneath
a mass of swirling gray
ensconcing the biting,
soon numb cerebral
dance- -neurons
bursting in slow motion- –
faded memories
of your warmth
manifest still-shot images
borrowed from the silences
of time apart.  Those almost
images- -almost warmth
to tuck into

Wishing beyond
these cold dreams
flowing sideways
from my lips- -syllables,
broken arrows
caught in my throat- –
I need for needs sake
to know- -to feel,
how to feel in the reeling
without your warmth
in which to awaken- -to
wake the silences without
shattering the silence
I crave- -and crave you
screaming in whispers.

“The eye sees a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination awake.”
                                                                                                              Leonardo da Vinci.

Shadow play- –
you eclipse my heart
standing silently in the closet
male- -wanting- -waiting
how I loved you best
a closet bound phantom
stillness echoes out
where thoughts revolve- -swirling neon
and bloodstone- -thoughts
evolve into shoebox dreams,
dust laden momentoes
of years gone by.

Gone on by- –
polished driftwood carried
by time’s elusive current
flowing backward against my heart- –
now and then lapping gently
against the eroded banks
of memory, teasing me.- –
You always did make me smile,
even in the dark corners.

I don’t want
to dust off the past- –
I’ll do it for you though.
Being teased by shadows
is a hobby of mine.
