Spring Blizzard 2003, 8' 3" of Snow Before It Ended.

Drifting
the way snow does
over Earth’s bones, trees
– -vast ocean
crystalline emotion.
Cornices curl
with the wind-blown night- –
stormy seas of unflawed white.
Love is like this drifting.
Wafting feathers- –
my love drifts
crystalline emotion
over you- -against you,
into the vast expanse
of your star bright heart- –
drifting- -drifting back,
returning love to me.

It’s all a gentle drifting- –
love and winter.

Word Salad

Neither going, nor coming
is ever easy
though used wisely
shining polished stones
of time are useful
when collecting nuggets
for a box of dreams

coins for spending
on empty days
when creativity
loses its flavor

When drifting aimlessly
through long silences
creates nothing- –
a pocket full of days
tossed recklessly
into my box of dreams- –
for making word salad

Rain Song

one drop forms circle
on pond’s surface- -expanding
outward infinite
possibilities
soon singing water dances
to thunder’s drum beat
echoing beyond
your hushed sleeping breath- -softness
your skin sweetest fruit

one drop forms circle
my soul dances- -expanding
infinitely light
love, I hold you safe
drifting in dawn’s warm silence
hearing droplets dance
