A dream slips free
in dim blue dawn
silence- -sleep’s
vaporous veil fades
on a slow motion current.
Lightly muffled breeze
whispers through
open windows
stirring- -elevating
my consciousness,
aware- -elation,
inspiration.
Bird’s first song burst
rises high above
sun’s streaming ribbons- –
floating clouds on fire.
Adrift- -my mind
careening, I soar
nestled in nature’s muse- –
amused by life
in its cycles.
Setting morning routines
in motion- -eyes forced
wide open- -I look for you
strolling up the path humming
Celtic bagpipe music.
Although
it’s been so long now- –

I’ll always look for you
in nature’s morning nuances,
never feeling alone,
or lonely.  Life
gave me you- –
I’m alive.

Bristlecone pine
atop granite spire- –
my perch
all thought
beyond this
a blur

I listen
to all things
natural
view things- -eyes closed
I feel them
filling me up
senses saturated
with tranquil light
smell, touch, sound- -wisdom
has no bounds
spoken in silences
deeper
louder
than any
cloud burst
can sing
I open wide
my being

humid- -sleepless
giant moon
on cottonwood
leaves flicker- –
crickets chirrup

entwined
on mossy banks
we sip kisses
purple flowers nod- –
acquiescent

lazy river drifts
stars shift
chasing moon
time grows weary
reaching
for our hearts- –
                             too busy
                             spending time

Cocoa Beach Sunset

Cocoa Beach Sunset (Photo credit: JessicaGarbe)

Warm salty breeze,
heavy- -moist,
buffets my body- –
a divine sweet wine
I take in sipped breaths
and savor.
Silver moon sparks
across rolling waves- –
suddenly spent lovers
crashing- -lying down
in a rushing hush,
energy aglow.
Silence
broken only by
tidal love’s urgent surge
bursting my heart
giving and taking,
pushing- -pulling,
its steady breathing my
constant companion tonight.
                                                         Alone on a balcony
                                                         I take in Cocoa Beach,
make it a part of me- –
                                                         future trinket
                                                         for my memory box.
                                                         With gossamer wings
                                                         I would fly slowly
                                                         over the glittered
                                                         charcoal horizon- –
                                                         listening to wind
                                                         rushing in the night,
                                                         become bright moon
                                                         sparks bursting, or
                                                         swoop low
                                                         over cooling sand
                                                         strewn with glassy shells
                                                         seeking a 3:00 a.m
                                                         lonely hearted love.

                                                         Although,
                                                         I am content
                                                         absorbing solitude
                                                         simply to be- –
                                                                                  me.

Spring- –
winter
unfurls
its feathered wings.
Cold white linen
spreads
over yarrow,
again it hides
for a time.
Oh, how the seasons
push and shove my moods

I yearn for tomorrow’s
return of spring- –
and your sunny smile
warming me
in shades of love
I haven’t dreamed
of yet.  Birds trilling
the way Cyndi sings
“Time After Time”
– -all emotion
the birdsong
warming me
afterall- -sun
will shine
in your eyes.

Moth in moonlight- –
I’m drawn to you
this way
your eyes hold me
captive- -feeling
spellbound
you move through me
in a single sigh
we mingle- -meld
melt in silence
I want to curl up
with you on spring
green pillows- -purr,
content to be
captive and captivating
content to be
warm with you
let me curl up
and captivate you
in spring’s greening.

Collecting thoughts- –
a jar of fireflies
warm- -dim
starlight shows me
how alone
I really am here
alone- -lost
in the absence
of Friday’s smile
winter slicing
through veins
of memories,
even shadows laugh
to see I bleed
without you
I hold my jar- –
a blanket of thoughts,
waiting.
