My heart
half full
of empty- –
needs
to devour you
in slow motion- –
ways in which
whipped cream
and strawberries
are forbidden.

I want
to savor you
a while.

I want to get up
and move you into
my realm
of possibilities- –
as though doing so
would declare us
instant lovers.

I want to lie
at your side watching
a tapestry of stars
unroll- -strobe
across a purple
dreamscape paradise- –
imagining there is
a place for us
besides apart.

I said- –
I really want
to move you.

night sky deepens
moths flutter
in moonlight
barefoot
lovers stroll
crickets serenade
warm earth
warm hearts
coyotes chant
– -silence- –
sweet ending

so softly
a faint breath
goes in the night

looking back- -words
escaped me
with his passing

his fading light
left a momentary
wisp on the sill

yet- –
flowers still
bloom my heart

light
feeds life
endings- -begin

my soul
continues
the dance

somewhere
my wolf calls
out to me

A Spring Brainstorm

chickadees- –
all black caps
and smiles
darting, fluttering
the way love does
trees laugh
my heart soars
feathers
paint the sky

I’m all jasmine
and rain drops
kissing- -warm
my heart

My notebook
a womb of creation,
insane sanity set adrift
on paper rafts.
Random thoughts- –
a synchronous bargaining
between my right hemisphere
and nature- -a play
of light on love and words.
So many paths in the forest
I come to you
dazed- -reasoning
blown away,
creative pollen carried
on a honeysuckle wind- –
blown away.
Brainstorming
a stormy process
in my writing ritual- –
ripples- -ideas churning lightly
below water’s evening surface- –
trout feeding on thoughts
and laughter.
My pen floats
when I dream.

  • A Dank Love (thoughtsfromtheoutdoors.wordpress.com)

White stallion gallops
a thunderstorm beach.
Sky drums roll
out beyond the pier- –
beyond cognizance.
Bareback- -warm
against my legs,
he carries me
effortlessly- –
flying free.
Hoofbeats splash
Poseidon’s kisses
over my skin.
Your smile, love- –
a photograph pasted
on a page in my mind- –
I find, keeps me grounded.
Sweetheart, you know
I would ride forever- –
I could, but your smile
anchored in my mind
keeps me earthbound.
