Winter dances
a soft shoe shuffle.
Under the door
silver stars
dust the floor.
Morning hugs
and coffee
melts him
into me.

Failing,
as if failing
were an option- –
light bends beyond
the distant horizon,
reds to black peace.
A silver-gold flashback
bleeds yesterday
into a river
of tomorrow light.
His memory an echo,
lulls me- -in
a spin again.
Dark ink spills
across the landscape.
My thoughts- -wild horses
wander
in wonder- –
trekking the silences,
mapping the wilderness
of his soul’s valley.
I sleep with shadows
safe- -within the echo
of him, floating
on a river
of tomorrow light.

Solitude settles in- –
not settling
for leftover love.
A gardenia moon blooms
sparking across water- –
reflections bleed through
a dilute breath- –
vapors rising.
Vacant- -rowboat
sways gently- -plays soft music
against an empty shoreline,
a fine thumping
in tune with our hearts.
Cold- –
I’ve taken refuge
in your eyes,
snuggling in to you
for the dream time.

Warm
rain
trickling
over
my body- –
tropical
thunder
deep
bongo
beat,
vibrations
in the heat- –
grape’s
sweet
nectar
tastes
of love
on you- –
Yes- –
I missed you
