Down My Spine.

rain
falls- –

classical
music
trickles- –
your
fingers
down
my spine

 

 

my soul disrobes- –
your eyes
unblinking,
drink me in

 

yet
we avoid
the crescendo
in the middle ground,

dancing

Restless

It’s only a closed-door,

unlike your eyes
in the night- -your
mind in flight,
searching- -hunting
for how it felt
so long ago- -haunted
by the surging
pulse excitement
of new love’s undertow.

Just open it- –
close your eyes,
let your heart
absorb the light
for all those reasons
beyond reasoning- –
                                  you need.
Open the door- -sleep
in the warmth
you create right here
deep within me.  We
are all we need
on sleepless nights,
dreamless and dreaming
of love long ago.

Open it and find me.
