Collecting thoughts- -
pretty rocks
to fill my pockets- -
dreams kept
for long nights running
backward in slow motion
waiting for you to find
me between the lines.

Icy night wind mourns
the summer still locked
away deep in my heart- -
where sea spray comes
dancing amid the gulls
and your shining smile- -
a bright sun warming
my toes in the sand.

I can’t stand waiting
for so long
between sunshine kisses.
Collecting thoughts- -
pretty rocks- -to keep you
in my pocket- -safe,
a cold night’s dream
while mourning summer.

night sky deepens
moths flutter
in moonlight
barefoot
lovers stroll
crickets serenade
warm earth
warm hearts
coyotes chant
- -silence- -
sweet ending

My notebook
a womb of creation,
insane sanity set adrift
on paper rafts.
Random thoughts- -
a synchronous bargaining
between my right hemisphere
and nature- -a play
of light on love and words.
So many paths in the forest
I come to you
dazed- -reasoning
blown away,
creative pollen carried
on a honeysuckle wind- -
blown away.
Brainstorming
a stormy process
in my writing ritual- -
ripples- -ideas churning lightly
below water’s evening surface- -
trout feeding on thoughts
and laughter.
My pen floats
when I dream.

White stallion gallops
a thunderstorm beach.
Sky drums roll
out beyond the pier- -
beyond cognizance.
Bareback- -warm
against my legs,
he carries me
effortlessly- -
flying free.
Hoofbeats splash
Poseidon’s kisses
over my skin.
Your smile, love- -
a photograph pasted
on a page in my mind- -
I find, keeps me grounded.
Sweetheart, you know
I would ride forever- -
I could, but your smile
anchored in my mind
keeps me earthbound.

I’ll let you
swim the river
of my soul- -
sunbathe in
the calm of me
just to be
your secret
hideaway- -

I’ll hike
your heart
seeking
the meadow,
swollen- -
ripe with color,
honey drenched
and ready
for my dreaming

I’ll meet you later
at the headwater
for hugs
and wild berry
                 kisses

Winter dances
a soft shoe shuffle.
Under the door
silver stars
dust the floor.
Morning hugs
and coffee
melts him
into me.

A faint sigh- -

Rowboat

A whitehall rowboat

Solitude settles in- -
not settling
for leftover love.
A gardenia moon blooms
sparking across water- -
reflections bleed through
a dilute breath- -
vapors rising.
Vacant- -rowboat
sways gently- -plays soft music
against an empty shoreline,
a fine thumping
in tune with our hearts.
Cold- -
I’ve taken refuge
in your eyes,
snuggling in to you
for the dream time.
